1. As of February 23, 2018, the former China Food and Drug Administration approved a total of 148 (102 domestic and 46 overseas) factories and 1,138 formulations. The relevant factories of domestic and foreign-funded mainstream brands have all or almost all been approved for formula registration.
2. When calculated according to currently qualified factory, there are currently 104 certified companies for domestic production and 94 companies (including 10 liquid milk factories) certified by the CNCA for overseas factories. Therefore, the calculation according to the easiest principle is that the total number of milk formula in the Chinese market will not exceed 1692, but of course this number is not absolute.
3. The last batch was announced on February 23. There was no approval information for about one and a half months. The declaring company was looking forward to with eager expectancy. In particular, the transitional period of January 1st, 2018 arrived. Enterprises that had not obtained a formula approval had been shut down. CNHFA organized the 2018 Seminar for Professional Managers in Food Industry Public Relations
On March 28, 2018, the China Nutritional and Health Food Association held 2018 Seminar for Professional Managers in Food Industry Public Relations in Shanghai, and nearly 200 public relation professional managers, industry experts and media representatives from more than 100 companies gathered to exchange ideas, explore new changes in the public relations situation in the new era, collide with new ideas in the understanding of public relations, and create new values ​​in the management of public relations.

The meeting was presided over by Li Liangqiu, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Nutritional and Health Food Association. Professor Hu Yinglian from the National Academy of Governance, Wu Yantian, a public relations expert, Huang Haiyun, chief operating officer of the food circle’s new media “Petit Villa”, and Ma Changbo, founder and CEO of Shizhi Media, respectively shared their opinions from the following perspectives of “new age is the regulatory reform of food and drugs: logical connotation”, “research direction of big government and business relations under big data”, and “new media communication of food in the context of new media”, “public relations and marketing logic of knowledge short video”. The event organizers also invited Yang Guochao, Senior Vice President of FrieslandCampina, Greater China, Zou Chunyi, Vice President of Danone China, Wu Shaohong, Executive Director of Ausnutria Dairy, Wang Sanhu, Vice President of Ele, and Lu Jingfeng, Director of Public Affairs of Amway China engaged in the topic discussions about “new age, new thinking and new value” food industry public relation management from the perspectives of public relation management, crisis case analysis, work experience and other aspects.
At the meeting, the China Nutritional and Health Food Association hired 12 senior management personnel with excellent capabilities and rich experience in the field of government affairs and public relations in the food industry as mentors to conduct career guidance for public relations professional managers in the industry.
At the same time, the Association has summarized the professionalism of public relation professionals in the food industry. As a specialist and generalist, public relation professionals in the food industry that integrates science and art should have: philosophers’ minds, the minds of economists, the talent of organizers, the heart of the politicians, the strategics of diplomats, the courage of entrepreneurs, the decisiveness of the military strategists, the skills of publicist, the vision of strategists, the imagination of visionaries, the eloquence of lawyers, and the sensitivity of the journalists.
