On March 16th, the State Administration of Market Regulation (SAMR) issued Order No. 70, announcing the implementation of the Measures for Metrological Regulation of Quantitatively Packed Commodities, effective from June 1st, 2023. To ensure a smooth transition and reduce packaging waste, an additional 12-month transition period is provided for products with a net content of less than 1g. Products manufactured or imported before the end of this transition period can continue to be sold until their expiration date. This measure aims to enhance regulatory compliance and promote sustainable packaging practices in production and business activities.
