The 9th Special Food Managers’ GFUN Talk Held in Beijing

On the morning of January 21, the 9th Special Food Managers’ GFUN Talk was held in Beijing. With the theme “Leveraging the Platform of Professional Committees to Enhance Individual Capabilities”, the event brought together heads of association committees, industry experts, government affairs specialists, professional managers in the special food sector, and representatives from member organizations. Over a hundred managers from member companies participated both online and offline. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Zhongpeng, Secretary-General of the China Nutrition and Health Food Association (CNHFA).



In his opening speech, Jiang Yujun, Vice President of CNHFA and Vice President of Northeast Agricultural University, noted that the GFUN Talk, as one of the association’s earliest self-established brand events, has focused on managers from member companies over the past nine years. Through innovative formats and timely topics, it has facilitated effective communication—evolving from discussions on government relations and crisis management to today’s professional case-sharing and cross-disciplinary skill enhancement. The event has received continuous support from FrieslandCampina Dairy (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a vice president unit of CNHFA.



During the expert sharing session, Zhao Yunfeng, Researcher at the National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment and Chief Scientist of the CNHFA Standardization, Testing, and Inspection Professional Committee, delivered a presentation titled “Enhancing Testing Capabilities to Support the High-Quality Development of Nutrition and Health Products”. He elaborated on the testing technology needs for nutrition and health products, covering topics such as the definition and classification of emerging contaminants, relevant testing methods, bottlenecks in national standards and testing approaches, and challenges in food analysis.



In the panel discussion, Zhang Weimin, Chair of the Standardization, Testing, and Inspection Professional Committee; Cai Weihong, Chair of the Infant Complementary Food Professional Committee; and Bai Hong, Incoming Vice Chair of the Health Food R&D Professional Committee, shared insights on the theme “Leveraging Professional Committees to Foster the Growth of Managers’ Capabilities”. Drawing from their professional experiences and committee work, Zhang Weimin suggested learning from the management systems of leading companies for self-development; Cai Weihong emphasized advancing scientific nutrition research and implementing group standards; while Bai Hong expressed hopes for the industry and special food managers, recommending a focus on communication skills and comprehensive administrative abilities.



As a flagship event of CNHFA, the GFUN Talk aims to facilitate internal dialogue among industry managers, explore common challenges, and enhance professional competencies.
